Caledonian was founded by the owners of Mar Austral SRL to import Scottish Ale beers that were not yet available in Uruguay. This initiative marked the beginning of the introduction and growth of this beer style in the country, with a clear focus from the outset on origin, quality, and added value.

Years later, through Tecnoliva, the company expanded into the agri-food sector by importing olive seedlings, contributing to the development of Uruguay’s olive oil industry.

These projects, together with the operations of Mar Austral SRL, laid the foundation for our expertise in import management, supplier development, and adapting international products to the local market.
